Apple to Finally Release iPhone to Verizon?

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the iPhone will finally be available to Verizon customers early next year. iPhone users have long complained about AT&T's network and a desire to use it on different ones, such as Verizon's. If true, it will mean that AT&T will lose the stranglehold it has had on the iPhone since its launch.

This matter obviously begs many questions. It is hard to tell how many more people who have always been on Verizon who will buy the iPhone, how many people will switch from AT&T to Verizon, and how many people will do nothing at all. Time will only tell. Still, it seems like for Verizon's sake the sooner that they get a chance to sell the iPhone, the better.  In any case, AT&T should not be too happy about it.

Yeah, Verizon is known as being better than AT&T. Both have histories of unscrupulous behavior, though.

  3. Verizon seemed to have a lot of the network share in america, a bit crazy from apple only to be allowing them access now.

  10. I don't really know anything about Verizon. I would like it if they would just sell the unlocked phone though.

  15. I'm not sure how this would happen, to be honest--not in the time frame they're suggesting.

A CMDA iPhone would be pretty horrible, as they're looking into LTE for 2011 anyways. A double-dip LTE AT&T and Verizon iPhone would make the MOST sense, to be honest.
